Vauhti’s PURE collection is a completely new fluorine-free ski wax and care product line that covers product categories up to the race skiers. A cleaner and more responsible ski wax is Vauhti’s answer to the needs and values of today’s consumers. The PURE collection is a result of long-term and systematic product development for which the company has applied a patent. The PURE collection is based on completely new and fluorine-free additives. Zinc stearate, polydimethylsiloxane with aliphatic groups, and mixtures thereof improve the performance of hydrocarbon waxes and paraffins used in glide waxes in all snow conditions. Zinc stearate compacts and hardens the ski base, reduces the sliding friction and improves wear resistance, especially in cold and dry snow conditions. Polydimethylsiloxane with aliphatic groups improves the water repellency and the performance of the glide wax in both humid and wet snow conditions. Chemical nature of the additives enables their processing and complete mixing with the hydrocarbon waxes and hydrocarbon solvents. The amount and ratio of additives as well as the type of wax raw materials can be optimized extensively according to the requirements of different snow types.
